Amauri's story
This all started with a little boy named Amauri who was born with severe medical complexities. Amauri weighed 1 lb and 7 oz at birth and was unable to breathe on his own. Both parents unfortunately were incarcerated shortly after his birth, which led Amauri to the care of The Department of Children and Family Services.
Facing difficulties
Amauri could not take any food by mouth and was trach and vent dependent. Although Amauri faced many difficulties, he continued to grow, be social, and enjoy his nursing staff and his family.
A safe place to thrive
Amauri became the first recipient of My Father's House; A home where children who needed extra love and care can grow, develop, and eventually thrive. My Father's House would provide Amauri with a safe place, long or short term, where he would learn that he is important, valuable, and special.
